Greener Ethiopia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Butajira City Administration to enhance cooperation in environmental conservation, urban greening, climate resilience, and sustainable community development.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration on a range of urban environmental initiatives, including tree planting, urban greening, ecosystem restoration, environmental awareness campaigns, waste management, community mobilization, and the improvement of green spaces. These initiatives are intended to contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable urban environment for the residents of Butajira.
The partnership will encourage active participation from local communities and other stakeholders in protecting and improving the city’s environment. Community engagement will be an important component of the collaboration, helping create greater awareness about environmental responsibility and encouraging sustainable practices at the local level.
The two institutions also aim to work together in addressing urban environmental challenges and strengthening the city’s resilience to climate-related impacts. Expanding green spaces, restoring degraded areas, improving environmental awareness, and supporting responsible waste management can contribute to healthier communities and improved urban living conditions.
The signing of the MoU represents an important step in strengthening cooperation between Greener Ethiopia and the Butajira City Administration. Greener Ethiopia looks forward to a productive and long-term partnership that supports urban environmental sustainability, strengthens community participation, and contributes to improving the quality of life for current and future generations.
