Greener Ethiopia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gurage Zone Administration to strengthen cooperation in environmental conservation, ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and sustainable development across the zone.
The agreement creates a framework for joint action in several important areas, including tree planting, ecosystem and land restoration, sustainable agriculture, environmental awareness, natural resource management, and community engagement. Through these efforts, the partnership seeks to address environmental challenges while promoting sustainable practices that benefit both communities and the surrounding ecosystems.
The collaboration will place strong emphasis on community participation and locally driven environmental solutions. By bringing together government institutions, communities, youth, local stakeholders, and environmental partners, the initiative aims to strengthen collective efforts toward protecting natural resources and restoring degraded areas.
The partnership also supports broader efforts to improve climate resilience and promote sustainable livelihoods. Environmental conservation and sustainable development are closely connected to the well-being of local communities, and the collaboration seeks to ensure that environmental initiatives contribute to both ecological restoration and community development.
Greener Ethiopia welcomes the partnership with the Gurage Zone Administration as an important step toward strengthening coordinated environmental action throughout the zone. The organization looks forward to working together on impactful programs that promote greener communities, protect natural resources, strengthen climate resilience, and support long-term sustainable development.
